On February 8, the Broadcast Pioneers of Colorado quarterly luncheon invited Channel 2 Anchor and BPC Hall of Fame member, Mike Landess to speak and review his history of broadcasting in Colorado and other states.
Landess’ career started in Tyler, TX includes stops in Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia and Cleveland. In 1977 he came to Denver’s KBTV (now KUSA-TV) to co-anchor the evening news with Ed Sardella. In 1993 Gannet transferred him to Atlanta for six years then to then to the Fox affiliate in DC. He returned to Denver in 2002 as anchor on KMGH. Channel 7 until retiring in 2014. After 50 years on-air, and a short retirement, he joined CBS19 in Tyler, TX, then in 2016 returned to Denver as co-anchor on KWGN.
