How do you get your customers to come to you rather than the other way around? David Pemberton, small business entrepreneur and author says referrals are the answer. (Pictured are, L-R: Carol Naff and Steve Stone, CC Board members; speaker David Pemberton, and Rob Nelson, CC Board member)

On Friday, November 6, Pemberton spoke at the Creative Connections meeting and detailed why referrals will save you the time and effort of prospecting and, in most cases, provide highly qualified leads that will close. The secret is to have a marketing plan that includes building a referral network of friends, customers and key people that trust you and you can trust. Keep in mind that referral is a two way street and these are people you would be happy to refer others to for their services. Pemberton’s book on the subject will be coming out in December.

Creative Connections meets the first Friday each month, 9-10:30AM at the Innovation Pavilion, 9200 E. Mineral Ave. The objective is to give creatives a chance to network, exchange ideas and learn how they can help each other.
